FAQs
Frequent Questions
What is cremation?
Cremation is an increasingly popular alternative to traditional casket burial. Through this simple, low-impact process, the remains are placed in a cremation container and incinerated in an industrial furnace (called a cremation retort), safely reducing them to basic chemical compounds which are called “cremated remains.”
What happens during the cremation process?
Our cremation process is professional and highly methodical. We facilitate just one cremation at any given time with a carefully controlled labeling system to ensure proper identification throughout the process.
The container is placed inside the cremation chamber, where the temperature is increased up to 1800°F. These extreme temperatures consume all organic matter within a couple of hours.
From here, any remaining bone fragments are delicately removed from the chamber. We clear the remains of all metal components before processing them into fine, ash-like particles which are placed in a temporary container or an urn of your choice.
How long does it take?
The entire cremation process generally takes about three hours to complete.
Do you offer advance planning for me or my spouse?
Yes. We are pleased to now offer the ability to plan in advance. This means you can secure your plan with us before the time of need.
What are your payment options?
If our services are needed immediately, we have options for making a payment in full for the services rendered. If you are planning in advance we offer flexible payment options for you over an extended period of time. It's important to talk to one of our caring staff, call 844-644-7827 for more details.
What are my options for cremated remains placement?
More and more families choose cremation because it provides greater flexibility than traditional burial. You may still have a traditional funeral service and in-ground burial. You can also place the cremated remains in an urn within a columbarium or niche or choose to have the ashes scattered at sea or at a meaningful location for your loved one. Others place the cremated remains in a decorative urn for home storage. Contact us and our funeral service professional will refer you to a local cemetery.
Why do you own and operate your own crematory?
Your loved one deserves the highest level of dignified care. That’s precisely what we provide by handling every single part of the cremation process. We don’t outsource anything: our trained and certified staff oversees every last step to ensure that your loved one will be safely and promptly returned to your care.
How can I safely transport the remains?
We strive to ensure the safest and most convenient return of all cremated remains. Cremated remains can be mailed to any address in the United States. Please note that if you are traveling with the cremated remains, it is important to leave them in the box from our crematory with the official documents we provided attached. Airport security requires that they be x-rayed, so they must be in a non-metal container.
